About the Artist

From jangly indie rock to alt country to weirdo art punk, De Porsal is a stylistically diverse, puzzlingly entertaining band, both in studio and on stage. Genetically bound and musically united, the De Porsal brothers are on a mission from god, tasked with making music for creatures of the earth, human and canine alike. Hailing from Torquay but now largely residing in Melbourne, De Porsal is a charcuterie board of fantastical ideas and sounds, rarely staying in one sonic location for long, hopping between genres and styles erratically like a scared frog.

De Porsal live shows can range anywhere from pleasant and joyous to unpredictable and chaotic, yet are often bewilderingly entertaining one way or another. Over the years De Porsal has worn many hats, including indie rock, art punk, weirdo funk music, and were even nominated for Best Country Work at the 2023 Music Victoria Awards for their alt-country concept album ‘Soft Cowboy’, despite having never made country music before in their lives.

And now having shed their cowboy boots and bolo ties, De Porsal bring you their latest creation known as ‘mutt music’: a hybrid of egg punk, jangly pop rock and bluesy boogie funk all wrapped up neatly in their latest LP ‘Dishlickers’. It’s fast, dumb, manic and at times scary, but importantly very danceable (but mostly just dumb). Weird music for weirder times.
