Tex Perkins & Matt Walker

  • Description:

Tex Perkins has been around for a while now, The Beasts, The Cruel Sea, The Dark Horses, The Man In Black, T’n’T to name a few. Tex has built his reputation on a restless sense of adventure, an ability to evolve and adapt, a dark sense of humour and a knack for teaming up with uniquely talented players who help get the best out of him.

Matt Walker is one such player, long established as a much-respected singer songwriter and much sort after guitarist, he’s worked with many great people over his 30-year career.

Tex and Matt finally released the self-titled album Tex Perkins & The Fat Rubber Band album in November 2021 which they wrote and produced together and was followed by the band’s second album Other World in 2023.

Later in 2023 we saw The Cruel Sea’s long-awaited reunion for the 30th anniversary tour of "The Honeymoon is Over" album. Fans rejoiced as the band returned to the stage, delivering unforgettable performances that showcased the timeless brilliance of their music. Amidst the excitement, Matt Walker stepping in for the late James Cruickshank brought a fresh dynamic to the band and hinted at an exciting new chapter yet to come.

As a duo Matt and Tex play co-written originals, well-chosen heart felt cover versions and classics from Tex’s back catalogue (Cruel Sea, Beasts of Bourbon, The Dark Horses etc).

Tex and Matt shows have been described by critics as often thrilling, deeply moving and a lot of fun.

Thelma Plum

  • Description:

Thelma Plum is a Gamilaraay woman, musician and creator. She grew up in Brisbane and spent many of her childhood years on her Grandparents’ farm in Delungra, a small country town in rural New South Wales.

She has been making music her whole life and has told one chapter with her debut album Better in Blak a story about culture, heritage, love, and pain. With incredible strength, courage and heartbreaking tenderness, her debut album captures so deftly what it’s like to be a young Aboriginal woman in Australia. The album became one of the most successful albums of 2019, nominated for 7 Arias and spawning 3 Platinum and one Gold singles. The title track “Better in Blak” came in the top 10 of the Triple J Hottest 100, the highest result ever for an Indigenous artist at the time, as well as winning the prestigious Vanda and Young “Song of the Year” award.

Far from receding from the public eye, she and her music have been involved in high profile campaigns for White Shirt Day and a number of household brands; for Netflix’s ‘Back To The Outback’ animated feature film (starring Tim Minchin and Eric Bana); press commitments such as recently being the cover artist for In-Style Magazine’s re-launch.

The adventure is always. And there is much more to come, and Thelma looks forward to you buckling up and joining her for the ride!
