Ben Searle

  • Description:

Ben has spent more than a decade making audiences laugh with his cheeky observations and story-driven comedy. He has written and performed two solo hours, Hammerhead (2023) and Punk Music (2025), across Australia and the UK, selling out shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and performing at the legendary Edinburgh Fringe.

A regular on stages at Comedy Republic and Basement Comedy in Melbourne, The Comedy Store in Sydney, and Good Chat Comedy in Brisbane, Ben has built a reputation as a seasoned performer with the energy of a rising star. His latest show, Punk Music, dives into the world of punk rock and hardcore culture, a hilarious mix of stage dives gone wrong, late-night festival stories, and the awkward truths of trying too hard to be cool. At its heart, Ben’s comedy is feel-good, cheeky, and endlessly relatable, turning personal misadventures into stories audiences can’t help but connect with.

Beyond stand-up, Ben is the co-host of Oblivious Maximus, a cult podcast with longtime friend Aaron Osborne. Focused on punk, hardcore, and metal, the show blends irreverent banter with in-depth conversations featuring guests from music, comedy, and the arts.

Whether on stage or behind the mic, Ben brings a warm, mischievous edge to his comedy, the kind that leaves audiences laughing, nodding, and maybe even reminiscing about that one time Blink-182 changed their life.

Cosmic Psychos

  • Description:

The Cosmic Psychos are (almost) an Australian punk rock institution who formed in Spring Plains, Victoria in 1982, spearheaded by founding member and bass player Ross Knight.

To date, the band have released 10 studio albums since their self-titled debut (1987) and their influence has been global, with UK band The Prodigy sampling their music on 1997’s ‘The Fat of the Land’ LP and Nirvana producer Butch Vig proclaiming them an influence on both Nirvana and the Seattle grunge scene of the 1990’s.

In 2009, Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam spoke candidly of the effect the band had on him growing up in Seattle. The band’s repetitive lyrics, fuzzed out guitar and wah-wah bass sound has remained unchanged over their 30 plus year career and continues to win over new audiences.

A documentary by film maker Matt Weston, released in 2013, titled ‘Blokes You Can Trust’ featured a whose who of global indie tastemakers and music makers espousing the Cosmic Psycho’s legacy in Australian musical history. The documentary has given the band new life and they currently find themselves fielding touring and interview requests as far flung as Spain, Germany and Costa Rica.

It’s been a wild ride for the Psycho’s mainstay Ross Knight who originally formed the band in 1982 for ‘shits and giggles’. He’s been trying to balance the demands of fronting one of Australia’s defining punk bands and managing his vast third-generation farm ever since; which includes running cattle, tending a vineyard and volunteering his time and tractor to the local fire service.

The Cosmic Psychos have survived the passing decades, musical trends and fashions with ease. Most fans will tell you they’re simple blokes (you can trust), just making straight-ahead, good-fun, Australian influenced punk rock.

Grace Robinson

  • Description:

Grace Robinson is a Naarm-based creative chameleon, often spotted wearing one of her many hats: performer hat (amongst many groups), booking agent hat, bass player hat but most commonly her obnoxious bogan hat. Best known as the powerhouse lead singer of electro-soul outfit Empress, she’s toured extensively and lit up major festival stages like Sun Cycle, Strawberry Fields, Meadow, and Beyond The Valley. She's now turning heads with her solo project: a deliciously unfiltered blend of indie rock, emotional oversharing, and dry wit, all wrapped around her signature mint-green Danelectro guitar and all-star band.

Her songs are part epic anthem, part open therapy session—drawing inspiration from the likes of Sharon Van Etten, Phoebe Bridgers, and Julia Jacklin. By the end of her set, you’ll likely know all about her therapy sessions, her mum, and why she still believes that if Collingwood made finals they would have had back-to-back premiership wins. With sold-out shows and festival stages already under her belt (Wonder Mountain, Brunswick Music Fest, and more), all eyes are on her upcoming debut release for late 2025.
