MBAS Performer of the Year

Conducted by MBAS the winner of the PBS 106.7 FM Blues Performer of the Year Contest 2011 DREAMBOOGIE will represent the MBAS and Australia in Memphis USA at the International Blues Challenge (IBC) 31st January  – 4th February  2012.

DREAMBOOGIE are Rebecca Davey, (Vocals), Mauricio Ochoa, (Guitar), Connor O’Neill , (Bass) and Robert B Dillon, (Drums). Since their formation in early 2010, they have appeared at festivals, toured Australia, performed live to air on radio, and built a solid following in their home town. In mid 2011, their debut album - I’m Ready was released.

Last year's winner  "Sweet Felicia and the Honeytones" ,  reached the semi-finals in Memphis USA. Previous winners in Memphis include Jimi Hocking, Fiona Boyes and Geoff Achison.

To assist with travel expenses to USA, a special Fundraiser event will be held Sunday 22nd January at the GH (Greyhound) Hotel St Kilda.
