Teeny Tiny Stevies

  • Description:

Beginning as a side hustle from their already established indie-folk band, The Little Stevies, in 2015, inspired by the need to teach Byll’s three-year-old about the challenges of toilet training, sisters Byll & Beth started playing around writing children’s songs.

What began as a side-hobby became so fun and effective that before they knew it, their debut album ‘Useful Songs for Little People’ had become a word-of-mouth sensation around Australia.

They’ve since released 4 albums through ABC Music, won an ARIA and two AIR Awards, appeared on Play School & Gardening Australia Junior, been commission to write for Sesame Street in the US & signed a book deal with Harper Collins.

Their first book, Boss of Your Own Body, was nominated for the 2022 ABIA Best Children’s Book Award and has become a bestseller. They’ve also licensed countless music videos to ABC Kids TV, which are played on air regularly and racked up over 21 million streams on the ABC KIDS iView app.

Their live shows are the ultimate live gig experience for young families. The old feel young, the young feel like grown ups and everyone just meets somewhere in the middle for a rocking good time.

The Badloves

  • Description:

The Badloves became a household name in the 90’s with their debut album Get On Board. It spent a massive 69 weeks in the charts, peaked at No. 5 and went on to achieved double platinum sales. The critically acclaimed album delivered four hit singles: Lost, Memphis, I Remember and Green Limousine. The band then went on to be nominated for five ARIA Awards – Album of The Year, Single of The Year (Lost), Breakthrough Artist – Album, Breakthrough Artist – Single (Lost) and Best New Talent. The band secured two awards for Breakthrough Artist – Album and Breakthrough Artist – Single.

After extensive tours in Australia and Europe, they released their second album in 1995, Holy Roadside. It was a Top 15 chart debut, received further ARIA nominations, and another string of hit singles in Slave, Barefoot Bride, Living Thing and Caroline, establishing them as one of this country’s premier acts.

Whilst The Badloves wagon has rarely left the road in 30 long years, their recording output has been sparse. The drought finally broke in late 2019 when the band released the superb soulbrothertruckinsong – their first new single in 17 years.

The Badloves continue to build on their legacy with the arrival of their recent single, Tribal, which has already received strong support from Australian radio. The song was inspired by one of Michael Spiby’s recurring dreams. Spiby explains “I don’t usually remember dreams, they’re so hard to catch. But often enough I wake up disturbed by this one recurring theme…how will I keep my little tribe together in tough times, am I up to the task? ‘Tribal’ is my recurring dream, caught in the light of day.”

The Preatures

  • Description:

Released in 2014, Blue Planet Eyes introduced The Preatures to the world with its infectious blend of 60s R&B and country-inflected pop-rock. The album garnered widespread critical acclaim, and a devoted global following crossing genres and generations, thanks to its irresistible hooks, timeless sound and standout tracks like ‘Is This How You Feel?’, ‘Better Than It Ever Could Be’ and ‘Somebody’s Talking’. Debuting at #4 on the ARIA charts, Blue Planet Eyes also earned four ARIA nominations and a J Award nomination, with a further two songs placing in triple j’s Hottest 100 in the year of their release (‘Is This How You Feel’ #9 in 2013 and ‘Somebody’s Talking’ #29 in 2014).

With their songs ringing out around the world, it was clear The Preatures had found ‘it’: an inexplicable but totally identifiable thing. Suddenly, they had gone from playing clubs for hundreds of people to performing in front of tens of thousands. Their quick rise to fame as one of Australia's most exciting acts had earned them a reputation for their boundary pushing song writing and magnetic live shows which saw them play countless shows, including a fifty-date regional tour of Australia, two shows at Sydney Opera House, triple j’s Beat The Drum concert, Splendour In The Grass and Falls Festival, as well as huge international spots on Jimmy Kimmel Live, mainstage Coachella, SXSW, Bonnaroo and Glastonbury.

However, having reached dizzying heights that most artists could only ever dream of, the five friends from Sydney also found themselves facing mounting pressures. Non-stop touring, financial troubles, personal relationships and the pandemic took a toll on the band and much to fan’s disappointment, they decided to call it quits.

Fortunately, in the years since, band members have flourished, with frontwoman Izzi Manfredi releasing her remarkable debut solo record, izzi, while pregnant during COVID, while her bandmates Jack, Thomas, Luke and Gideon have gone on to start families, run their own businesses and perform with the biggest artists in the country.

With a newfound stability, and time to grow, heal and reflect, that magnetic energy that defines The Preatures was fatefully pulling them back together.

Excited to resurrect the band, The Preatures explain,” We dedicated our entire young lives to this group and to the music we made, falling in love with playing to crowds, however big and brash or small and sweaty. It was insane and we loved it all. Our decision to break up was never because of the music. Sometimes you really need to let go of everything to realise and appreciate what you have. For us, it’s about recognising and letting go of mistakes, allowing adversity to strengthen us, and trusting our game. We don’t know exactly what’s going to happen, but the idea of a comeback has an almost mystical ability to capture our imagination in a cynical world, and we can’t wait to relight that fire and remind ourselves what a privilege it is to play for you.”
