 Unlike most Australian kids of her generation, Ella grew up listening to the sounds of Donny Hathaway, Etta James and Gladys Knight and the Pips. It was the love of soul music that made Ella want to sing. Not concerned with fads and trends, she sings from her heart. She started performing and writing songs at an early age, and is only now 18 years old. Having done her first ‘proper gig’ at 12, she has had experience well beyond her years. After touring the country with Renee Geyer, Paul Kelly, Diesel, most recently supporting Stax legend Mavis Staples and playing major festivals, Ella is quickly gaining credibility as a promising young artist. Ella has just released her latest CD “only of you” which is a refreshing take on soul music we’ve all been waiting to hear. At this year’s festival, Ella will be performing two shows; one with her band consisting of some of Australia’s finest RnB musician and an intimate acoustic performance. Don’t miss out!
