He has performed for the Queen, has recently played two sold out shows at the Sydney Opera House, played for the Pope and was the supporting act for Elton John in May this year. Now the most exciting music talent to emerge in years will grace the stages of Queenscliff this year.

Gurrumul Yunupingu is one of the most experienced musicians living in the Northern Territory and quite possibly one of the most gifted musicians in Australia. From Galiwin'ku on Elcho Island, North East Arnhemland, and a former member of Yothu Yindi, now with Saltwater Band, Gurrumul's solo excursions highlight his amazing talent as a singer, songwriter and musician. His beautiful voice will never leave you, as he sings the songs of his Gumatj country. Gurrumul is blind and has been from birth, he is a multi-instrumentalist with a pure and beautiful singing voice. Gurrumul is well known and respected throughout the music industry within the N.T. and Australia, and is now gaining a public profile. Recently he was awarded Male Musician of the Year, at the second annual N.T. Indigenous Music Awards.

With the release of his first solo album, Gurrumul highlights the tremendous talent he has to offer music in Australia, and indeed, the world.
