 James Blundell has been acknowledged as the act single-handedly responsible for turning a younger demographic of Australians onto country music thanks to a unique style that also incorporated elements of folk, pop, rock and blues.
The first young Australian country act to make an impact on the pop charts James was also the first Australian country act to sign a major label recording deal in Nashville paving the way for the likes of Keith Urban, Kasey Chambers and others. James has been the recipient of 9 CMAA Golden Guitar Awards, double platinum, platinum and gold sales awards and is a 5 time ARIA Award nominee. The Definitive Collection 1988 – 2008’ DVD (featuring clips from James’ entire career) was released in July 2008.
October will see the release of his 10th album ‘Portrait of a Man’, the follow-up to 2007’s ARIA, APRA and CMAA Award nominated Ring Around The Moon.
Queenscliff will see James in full band mode along with a special intimate solo performance. |
