 The Liyarn Ngarn concert brings together two of this country’s most respected and treasured singer songwriters, indigenous song-man Archie Roach and Shane Howard, former front man of the legendary 1980’s band ‘Goanna’, whose massive anthem, ‘Solid Rock’ continues to reverberate across the country’s airwaves.
Liyarn Ngarn means ‘the coming together of the spirit’. Both Archie and Shane are prolific songwriters who have been sharing their spirit with audiences around Australia and overseas for two decades. Through song and story both Archie and Shane reach out to bridge the divide between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples. Their friendship epitomises the essence of Liyarn Ngarn.
Joined on stage by Ruby Hunter, Dave Arden, Amy Saunders, Amos Roach, Robert ‘Froggie’ Taylor and Ewen Baker, this unique group of artists combine to bring together stories of Aboriginal Australia’s ongoing struggle for justice. Always through their songs they share a hope for a better future for ALL Australians.
